Deep Purpl Beginnings
Deep Purpl started in Chicago back in January 2020 with one simple idea: bring Brazil’s favorite superfruit to the Windy City. Our first shop on Madison Street became a local favorite, and soon we were blending bowls all across Chicago—and even out west in San Francisco. Born in Brazil, raised in Chicago, Deep Purpl is all about açaí, good vibes, and Chi-Town energy.
Deep Purpl’s Founder
Deep Purpl is the vision of Gabriel Fleury, who first came to Chicago from Brazil to study at Loyola University. After graduating, instead of taking the usual path, he went all in on his first venture: spreading açaí culture through the city he now proudly calls home. That mix of Brazilian roots and Chicago grit is what gives Deep Purpl its flavor.

By 2023, Deep Purpl had grown to 10 stores across the city. Along the way, we’ve become part of Chicago’s heartbeat—fueling runners at the Chicago Marathon, cooling down crowds at Lollapalooza, and showing up wherever the city vibes are strongest. Deep Purpl isn’t just in Chicago—we’re of Chicago, and we love every bit of it.
